Who writes this

I am Nobuhiro Kono, and I live in Ueno. Not nearby — in it. The station I write about is the one I use to buy milk.

How these guides are checked

Every guide here was walked before it was written. The photographs are mine, taken on the date shown at the top of each page. When something changes — a price, an opening time, a shop that closes — I go back and update the page, and the date changes with it.

If you find something out of date, write to me and I will check it that week.

How this site makes money

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means I earn a commission if you book through them. It costs you nothing extra.

Here is the part that matters: I earn the same whether you stay in Ueno, Asakusa, Shinjuku or Shibuya. So when I tell you Ueno is the wrong choice for your trip, that is not modesty — it is just the answer. I would rather you trust the next guide than book the wrong hotel today.
